So, you booked your Disney trip, now what? One of the most common questions that I get asked is what are the must have items to pack for a trip to a Disney park? Packing for a Disney vacation is all about keeping things simple, comfortable, and magical. You’ll be on your feet all day, so think breathable outfits, really good walking shoes, and must-haves like sunscreen, a portable charger, and a refillable water bottle. And of course, don’t skip the fun part with matching tees, themed accessories, or a cute pair of ears to make the whole trip feel extra special. With a little planning and the right mix of practical essentials and fun extras, you’ll be ready to soak up every moment from rope drop to fireworks. I’ve linked some of my favorite products below, these are products that I have used on my own trips to the Disney parks. You can also shop my Amazon list by clicking here. One word…Florida. It will rain when you think it’s not going to. It might rain every day of your trip. Plus, you definitely want to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure whether you’re going to Disney World or Disneyland, so buy the ponchos! I like these ones because of the tight bands around the wrists to keep the water out.
Protect your skin, enough said! Being out in the sun for 8-10 hours in the parks requires good sunscreen. Don’t skimp on the skin protection- grab a travel sized sunscreen and toss it in your park bag.
Vacation can bring scrapes, bruises, motion sickness and more which is why it’s super important to have a first aid kit on hand. It’s better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
Motion sickness can strike at any time (hello Star Tours!), and having motion sickness relief on hand can save your park day!
On our last Disney vacation, we walked over 100,000 steps, so blister prevention is key!
Walking all day in the heat can lead to chafing. This anti-friction stick can help prevent the irritation that comes with it.
What Disney Park day would be complete without a cute pair of ears? Whether you’re planning the perfect Disney-Bound or just coordinating cute outfits, you’re sure to find the perfect pair… and they’re cheaper on Amazon vs purchasing in the parks! I absolutely love these Belle Ears. They matched my Disneyland outfit perfectly on our last trip!
Loungefly backpacks are my absolute favorite. They are adorable and they hold more than you might think! I love to collect them and match them to my park day outfits. My current favorite is this Marie backpack from The Aristocats. The matching wallet is absolutely stunning!
One of the best parts of a Disney trip is meeting characters! Having an autograph book on hand makes the meet and greet even more fun and memorable.
If Loungefly bags aren’t your thing and you don’t want to haul a full-size backpack to the parks, I get it. These sling bags are the perfect alternative!
One of the most important purchases for your upcoming trip is a portable phone charger. Between booking lightning lanes and taking thousands of pictures of the castle, your phone will get a workout and there’s nothing worse than making it to the end of the day and not having enough battery to record the fireworks show.
Speaking of charging, those Magic Bands require charging too! I love this charging port that has multiple spots for multiple bands.
Disney parks can be HOT, especially during the summer time. These cooling towels are incredibly helpful especially while standing in lines on busy days.
Another tip for cooling down on hot days, these personal neck fans. Grab one for each family member to keep everyone cool and calm.
One of my biggest Disney tips is to bring your own water bottles. If you have a stroller, pop them in the bottom or hook them on with a carabiner. Fill them with lots of ice and water at the hotel in the morning and you’re set! There are plenty of water bottle refilling stations around the parks as well and this is a great way to save money.
Another great way to beat the heat and the rain is to bring a small umbrella. Toss it in the stroller or your backpack just in case!
With so many people visiting the Disney parks each day, there can be SO many germs. Hand sanitizer is key!
Along with hand sanitizer, I recommend grabbing these sanitizing wipes to wipe down tables, chairs, strollers etc.
Keep the sun out of your eyes and protect your scalp with a good hat.
Grab a good pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun while navigating the parks.
You will be walking A LOT in the Disney parks, so make sure you have a good pair of walking shoes. These are my favorites!
I highly recommend bringing packing cubes to help you stay organized and save space in your suitcase for all of the souvenirs you pick up along the way.
If you’re braving a long line, you may find that these playing cards come in handy during the wait. We love playing games including uno, go fish and even “Head’s Up” (an app available for download on your phone).
Disney hotels can be noisy, so bring a sound machine for those days that you want to sleep in!

I hope this Disney vacation packing list gives you a head start on packing for your trip. Let me know if there’s any must-haves that I missed! I hope you have a wonderful trip, and if you haven’t booked your vacation quite yet, I can help with that too.
