Enchilada Sauce

Enchilada Sauce

I absolutely love enchiladas, but I’ve always found store-bought enchilada sauce to be bitter. After a lot of experimenting, I think I’ve perfected this recipe for homemade enchilada sauce, and I think you’ll love it.

How to make Enchilada Sauce

Preheat a pot over medium heat and allow the butter to melt. When the butter has melted, add the flour to make a roux. Continue to cook for 2-3 minutes.

Slowly add the vegetable broth, stirring constantly. Then, add the seasonings and bring the sauce to a simmer.

Enchilada Sauce

Allow the sauce to cook for 15 minutes until thickened.

Serve the enchilada sauce over your favorite enchiladas and enjoy!
