The Best Enchilada Sauce

The absolute best recipe for homemade enchilada sauce. This sauce can be used in enchiladas, Mexican pizzas or any other recipe your heart desires!

Ingredients
  

  • 3 1/2 Cups Vegetable Broth
  • 4 TBSP Butter
  • 4 TBSP Flour
  • 2 TBSP Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat a pot over medium heat and allow the butter to melt.
  2. When the butter has melted, add the flour to make a roux. Continue to cook for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Slowly add the vegetable broth, stirring constantly.
  4. Add the seasonings and bring the sauce to a simmer.
  5. Allow the sauce to cook for 15 minutes until thickened.
  6. Serve the enchilada sauce over your favorite enchiladas and enjoy.
