Butter Chickpeas Recipe

Butter Chickpeas Recipe

This butter chickpeas recipe is one of my absolute favorite easy dinners to make. It’s packed with flavor and protein, and it makes a simple weeknight meal. This recipe is vegetarian, but you can easily make it vegan by swapping the heavy cream for a can of coconut milk. This recipe will rival your favorite Indian takeout restaurant! Pair it with my homemade pita bread or garlic naan and serve over rice for a perfect meal.

For this butter chickpeas recipe, you’ll need:

  • One can of chickpeas or garbanzo beans.
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Heavy Cream
  • Garam Masala
  • Turmeric
  • Cumin
  • Onion Powder
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Fresh Cilantro

To make the butter chickpeas, start by melting the butter in a large pan. Then, add the garlic, ginger and seasonings and stir to combine. Next, add the chickpeas, tomato sauce and heavy cream and bring to a simmer for 10-15 minutes. To finish, top with fresh chopped cilantro and serve over rice or quinoa.Ā
