This week, I am SO excited to bring you an all new, fan favorite recipe. I’m happy to share my homemade beignet recipe with you all! Despite how daunting they may seem, beignets are actually fairly easy to make, and you probably have all of the ingredients on hand already. Let’s get into it.
To begin, you will warm the milk and water in the microwave or in a pan. You want it to be warm but not hot.Ā
Mix the yeast and salt in with the milk and water and allow it to sit for about 5 minutes.

Next, add the butter, egg and flour and mix well. Knead the dough until a sticky ball forms.

Place the dough into a bowl, cover with a dish towel and allow it to rise for 1-2 hours.

Use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into approximately 4-inch by 4-inch squares.

Add 2-3 inches of vegetable oil to a large pan for frying. Preheat the oil to 325 degrees.
Fry each piece of dough for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown.

Top the beignets with powdered sugar and serve when they are warm.
