Homemade Calzone Recipe

Easy and Delicious Calzones

One of my favorite things to order at a restaurant is a calzone! An inside out pizza? Yes, please! Today I’m going to show you how to make easy and delicious calzones from home. You can make these calzones in an oven, but my favorite way to make them is in the Air Fryer! If you know me, you know that I LOVE my Air Fryer. You can find my favorite one on Amazon by clicking here!Ā

For this recipe, we’re making the dough from scratch! You’ll need flour, yeast, salt, sugar, water and olive oil.

Add the warm water to a bowl along with the yeast, salt and sugar. Mix well and allow it to sit for about 5 minutes to give the yeast time to work its magic. It should look bubbly and beautiful.

Add the olive oil and flour and mix well.

Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes until the dough is sticky.

Add the dough to a bowl and cover with a dish towel. Allow the dough to rest for two hours, until it’s doubled in size.Ā

Divide the dough into 8 evenly sized pieces.

Roll each piece out to approximately a 6-inch circle.

Add your choice of fillings along with sauce to one half of the circle.

Fold the other half of the dough over the fillings and crimp the edges.

Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees and spray the air fryer with non-stick cooking spray.

Cook the calzones for about 8 minutes.

Brush the calzones with the melted butter and then cook for another 5 minutes for a total of 13 minutes cooking time.
