Homemade Flour Tortillas

Homemade tortillas

I’m back today to share another one of my most popular recipes. My homemade tortillas are a highly demanded item around here. I’m always asked to bring them and “make extra to take home” for our family dinners.

The best part? They’re SUPER simple to make.

What you’re going to need:

Rolling Pin

Mixing Bowl

To Start out, you’ll mix the flour, salt and baking powder together. Then, add the water and melted butter to the flour mixture and combine. You’ll continue to mix until a ball forms.

Divide the ball into 8 even portions. If you want smaller tortillas, you can divide the ball into 10 even portions.

Roll each section out using a rolling pin. They don’t have to be perfect circles, but should be fairly thin.

Cook each tortilla for 1-2 minutes per side. You will know that it’s time to flip the tortilla when you see bubbles begin to form. When finished, place the homemade tortillas on a plate and cover with a dish towel.
