Beer Cheese Sauce

A simple and delicious recipe for beer cheese sauce. This recipe is perfect for serving with homemade pretzels.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 TBSP Butter
  • 4 TBSP Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Beer
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 1/2 Cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese shredded
  • 1/2 Cup White Cheddar Cheese shredded

Method
 

  1. To a saucepan, add the butter and allow it to melt over medium heat.
  2. Add the flour and mix to create a roux.
  3. Slowly add in the milk, mixing constantly. Then add the beer, seasonings, Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard.
  4. Mix well and allow the mixture to come to a low boil.
  5. Slowly add in the cheese, mixing constantly and allow the sauce to thicken over low-medium heat for 15 minutes.
  6. Serve with homemade pretzels and enjoy!
